Ibraheem is presently working as Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (A Central University), New Delhi, India since 2002. He joined the Department as a Lecturer in January1988. Before Joining Jamia Millia Islamia, he had served Delhi Development Authority for a considerable time. He has vast international experience. In 2014 Prof. Ibraheem joined Qassim University, Qassim Engineering College, Saudi Arabia as Professor. From 2019 he continued as Professor in the department. He has an overall 35 years of teaching experience.

Dr. Ibraheem received the B.Sc. Engineering (Hons.), M.Sc. Engineering and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, India, in 1982, 1987 and 2000, respectively. He worked with Delhi Development Authority at Delhi, India. Since January 1998, he has been with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi, India. Currently, he is working as a Professor in the department. He had been Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering since 2002 to 2005. He has also discharged his duties as Coordinator for M.B.A.(Evening) Program, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia for a period of about two years. His current activities include teaching and research in the areas of power system control, optimal control theory, suboptimal control of power systems, applications of soft computing techniques in power systems, and HVDC transmission systems. Dr. Ibraheem is a member of various academic societies of national and international repute.

He has been engaged continuously in guiding research activities at graduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels. 27 Ph.D. degrees are already in his name as supervisor/co-supervisor and 11 Ph.D. research scholars are doing their research work under his guidance. He has published more than hundred (250) research articles in international/National Journals. He was awarded Gold Medal from the Union Ministry of Power and Energy (India) in 1998 for one of his research articles. He was awarded for second most paper publications in ISI journals in 2018 & 2019. He Chaired many sessions at national and international seminars/ conferences/ workshops. He delivered valuable technical lectures/talks in the institutes of National reputes. He was able to get grants from AICTE, UGC and DST for research projects. He has rendered his services as consultant (outside expert) at IIT, Delhi related to underground cable and also associated with energy audits of industries.

Presently he is holding the post of Dean Student's Welfare (DSW), Jamia Millia Islamia. Previously he held the position of Dean, FET, JMI. Besides, he has discharged his duties in the capacity of Dy Proctor and Officiating Proctor of the University for a considerable time and has been a very active member of Teacher's Association for many years. of Jamia Teacher's Association. He has also held the position of Secretary of Jamia Teacher's Association.

He has been an expert committee member for various committees of UGC, National Board of Accreditation, UPSC, HRD, Staff Selection Commission etc. He is on the boards of many institutions in different capacities. He is reviewer of International Journals of repute and conferences. He has been an active member of selection committees across the country.

The Central Govt. has appointed him as a Member to the Dargah Committee Ajmer for a period of five years with effect from 24-08-2007 and worked as Vice President of the Committee. He has played a key role in Administration, Control and Management of affairs of the Dargah Khwaja Sahab Ajmer. He has been evincing special interest in the academic upliftment for the children from and around Ajmer City and as a result he has a significant role in realizing the dream of "KHWAJA MODEL ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL" which is now poised for up to XII Standard from CBSE with the strength of 1200 students. He received Teacher's Excellence Award from 'The Shikshak Kalyaan Foundation', Ghaziabad, India in 2021 and a Gold medal from 'The Union Ministry Of Energy',India.
