COUNSELLING (REFERRAL SERVICES)

The Centre right from its inception, undertook gender sensitization programmes for students and teachers. Gradually, students and some faculty members started approaching for counseling. Hence the Centre started providing counseling services. Later, through the increased visibility of the Centre through its programmes especially the radio programme “Parwaz”, there was increased demand for counselling activities. A few faculty members, students and largely the residents of the neighbourhood approached us for counseling services. The neighbourhood women who approach us for legal remedies are referred to the National Commission for Women, the Delhi Commission for Women, the Crime Against Women Cell, and Muslim Personal Law Board. Others seeking help in relationship issues are referred to the neighbouring Holy Family Hospital’s centre for counselling services.
