Message from the Vice-Chancellor

Vice Chancellor, JMI
Prof. Mazhar Asif
Dear Alumni
As we look toward a new era of higher education envisioned in Viksit Bharat 2047, I take this opportunity to address to our alumni community.
Jamia Millia Islamia’s founders believed that education should be an act of service to the nation. When Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, and Dr. Zakir Husain laid the foundation in 1920, they were not merely creating an institution but nurturing a movement that was rooted in freedom, reform, and moral courage. That spirit continues to animate our alumni network, whose commitment to public good, community leadership, and intellectual contribution reflects the ideals upon which Jamia was built
The Alumni association aims to build bridges across generations, connecting your insights and experience with current students’ aspirations. As the university expands its initiatives and contributions to the national goals of enhancing research capacity, skill development, social outreach and innovation, I invite you to be our mentors, collaborators, advocates and co-creators of Jamia Millia Islamia.
I call upon you to renew your bond with Jamia, to share your stories, to help shape new pathways for the university and for our nation. Let us move forward, together, in service of knowledge, justice, and collective progress. I urge you to generously contribute to your alma mater.
Warm Regards
Vice-Chancellor
Jamia Millia Islamia
