Dear Alumni,

It is a matter of great pride and privilege to address the distinguished alumni of Jamia Millia Islamia—an institution whose foundations were laid by visionaries such as Hakim Ajmal Khan, Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, and Dr. Zakir Husain. Their dream was not merely to build a university but to nurture a moral and intellectual community devoted to the service of humanity and the nation.

Our alumni are the most enduring expression of that vision. The strength of a university rests not only in its academic accomplishments but in the collective influence of its graduates. Thus, the alumni community is a vital institutional partner. Your achievements in diverse fields like, policy making, public administration, academia, science, entrepreneurship, social reform, media and the arts have extended Jamia’s reach far beyond its physical campus, embodying the national aspirations to build globally competent and socially conscious citizens.

As India moves steadfastly towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, as a self-reliant, knowledge-driven, and globally respected nation, the role of universities like Jamia Millia Islamia becomes pivotal. And, this vision cannot be realised by institutions alone. It requires the strength, imagination, and contribution of their alumni, who stand as living custodians of Jamia’s founding spirit and ideals. Each alumnus and alumna of Jamia carries forward a part of the national mission ,whether by innovating in science and technology, contributing to social reform, advancing scholarship, or upholding integrity in public service.

Hence it is imperative to strengthen this bond between the university and its alumni in order to facilitate, the channels, platforms and networks for mentorship, collaborative research, knowledge sharing, and civic partnership. Our endeavour is to ensure that Jamia Millia Islamia remains not only a seat of academic excellence but also a catalyst for national progress, development and global recognition.
