Dr. Sabiha Alam holds a Masters and a doctorate degree in Environmental Sciences from the Marathawada University, Aurangabad Maharashtra, India. Her areas of research include Environment and Development in the Third World. She has contributed 20 research papers, articles, book reviews and chapters to various national and international journals and edited books. Her publications cover aspects such as cooperation in science and technology, media and environmental issues in South Asia, technology transfer in developing countries issues of global environmental governance, regional environmental concerns.
She is a member of scientific societies such as the Society of Indian Ocean Studies, Society for Ocean Scientists and Technologists, Pacific Congress on Marine science and Technology (PACON) International, and Green Peace. She has participated and presents papers in national and international seminar and conference. She has also delivered lectures on environment problems in South Asia at the Academic Staff College at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
