Pragati Paul is currently a Senior Assistant Professor at Anwar Jamal Kidwai (AJK) Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. She is pursuing Practice Based Ph.D. in Mass Communication and Journalism from AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. She teaches development Communication, street theatre, training and capacity building, acting, research and community media. Besides teaching she is actively involved with the coordination of the course activities. She had undergone a course “American families and Community lifestyles” from School of Human Ecology at Michigan State University. She completed her Masters of Science degree in Development Communication and Extension from Lady Irwin College, Delhi University. She has more than 10 years of teaching experience. She has worked with various development organizations like UNICEF, UNESCO, and UNFPA in developing IEC and ICT material for adolescents to educate them about life skills. She has worked as a Life Skill trainer for various development organizations and NGO’s. She is credited for stimulating young minds by developing sensitivity towards social issues through the medium of community media like street theatre and community games. Being a theatre enthusiast, she has judged several theatre festivals and presented her work at National and International Forums. Her area of research includes traditional media, media research training and capacity building ,participatory communication and community Media.
