M. Kasim joined AJK MCRC in 2009. He has over twenty years of experience in broadcast media and technologies. He started his career as design engineer with NTPC Ltd. and subsequently joined Doordarshan in the Indian Broadcasting Engineers Service, where he worked in different positions for over eighteen years. He has been trained at Central Training Institute, NHK, (Japan Broadcasting Corpn.) and also worked as a visiting researcher at the Science & Technical Research Laboratory, STRL NHK, Tokyo.

Before joining MCRC, he was involved in introduction of new media technologies in DD Network. He was a key member of the team that prepared Digital Migration Plan for Doordarshan Network and implemented DVB-H pilot project for introducing DD Mobile TV Service in Delhi. He was closely associated with planning and introduction of Doordarshan HDTV service and developing of broadcasting services and infrastructure in border and remote areas of the country.

He teaches media technology subjects related to broadcast media production and transmission and is the coordinator for PG Diploma in Broadcast Technology course. His interest areas are new media, e-learning, mobile broadcasting, ICTs and use of diverse delivery platforms for education and Mass Communication.

M. Kasim is a Life Member of Broadcast Engineering Society (India), Fellow of IETE and Member of The International Association for Media and Communication Research, IAMCR. He holds bachelor’s in Engineering (Hons.) from AMU, M.Tech. from IITK and MA in Mass Communication from KU.
