Press Release: Training Programme on “Application of Computers and Econometric Methods in Research Methodology” at Jamia

The Department of Economics, Jamia Millia Islamia is going to organize a Training Programme on “Application of Computers and Econometric Methods in Research Methodology” from February 20 to March 04, 2012.

The main aim of this course is to provide an introduction to economics informatics, econometric methods and hands on practice with E-views and SPSS econometric/statistical software. The approach is problem based i.e. participants will be made familiar with the software, using well known examples from applied econometrics.

The course is based on theoretical lectures and practical exercises in E-views/SPSS. The training of Economic Informatics & Econometric tools is of much use in various fields such as finance, accounting, international trade, marketing, statistics and operation research, management of human resources, economic and business forecasting.

The programme will be attended by young faculty members, M.Phil., Ph.D. Scholars, Researchers in Industry and Research Organizations shortlisted by a Scientific Committee.
