Press Note: Visit of NAAC Peer Committee at UGC-Academic Staff College for comprehensive review.

A three-member NAAC Peer Committee is visiting the UGC-Academic Staff College, Jamia Millia Islamia for a comprehensive review of the working of the Staff College during the period 2005-2010, from 22^nd to 24^th February 2012. This is part of the review by NAAC of all 66 UGC Staff Colleges in the country. The UGC-Academic Staff College, Jamia is one of the oldest Staff College in India that was set up in 1987, in pursuance of the NEP of 1986.

The NAAC Peer Team is headed by Professor Mariamma Varghese, Former VC, SNDT University, Mumbai. Professor H. J. Jani, Professor, MBA Programme, Sardar Patel University, Vallab Vidyanagar, Gujarat will be the Member Co-coordinator, and Professor Akhtar Haseeb, Former Dean, faculty of Agricultural Sciences and OSD (Development), Aligarh Muslim University will be the member of the NAAC Peer Team.

The NAAC Team will hold meeting with the VC, PVC, Registrar and the Finance Officer of the Jamia Millia Islamia, along with the Director, UGC-Academic Staff College and members of the Academic Advisory Committee. The team will also meet the participants of various ASC Courses, Course Coordinators, College Principals and Resource Persons of the ASC programmes. They will also examine records maintaining to the ASC as well as its infrastructure facilities.
