Press Release: Jamia organizes Training Programme on the topic “Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation”

The Academy of Professional Development of Urdu Medium Teachers, Jamia Millia Islamia organized a one-day Training Programme on “Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation” on February 2, 2012 for the Urdu Teachers of District Institute of Education and Training. The programme was attended by 38 Trainees along with Coordinator and Officials.

The purpose of the Training Programme was to improve teaching standard and student guidance as well as keeping in view the new education policy to let students get acquainted with Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation.

Prof. Aejaz Masih, Dean, Faculty of Education, in his inaugural speech, said that till now the motive of examination had been judge how much one knows but increasingly the focus has shifted form knowing to developing other skills and traits too.

Prof. Ghazanfar Ali, Director of the Centre focused on necessity, importance, utility, structure and value of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation and said “The basic aim of education is to let students grow comprehensively. This can be achieved only when measures of continuous evaluation are in place and the drawbacks and loopholes of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation are identity and attended to”
