Dr. A.P.J. AbdulKalam visits Jamia

Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, former President of India visited Jamia campus on July 27, 2009. Five students from each of the schools of Jamia were selected for an interactive session with Dr. Kalam. The former President shared a few anecdotes about his school life and fondly remembered some of his teachers who helped him in accomplishing his goals in life. Dr. Kalam advised the students that they should have well defined goals in their life and must strive whole heartedly to achieve them. The students presented him some hand made items and a few paintings.

The School celebrates Independence Day

Where the mind is without fear
And the head is held high
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father
Let my country awake

The ambience at the school resonated with these illuminating words of Tagore on August 15, 2009 on the occasion of the Independence Day celebrations. The tricolour was hoisted by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mushirul Hasan. His speech ignited a feeling of pride and patriotism in the hearts of the students and the staff present. The showers failed to dampen the spirits of the students who presented an invigoration cultural show.

Teachers Day Celebrations

Jamia Senior Secondary School celebrated Teachers Day with enthusiasm on September 4. The students recited poems and delivered speeches to mark the day. They also presented amazing cultural items and entertained everyone present at the celebrations. The teachers shared their school life memories with the students and fondly remembered their teachers who had been a guiding force in their lives. The Principal exhorted the teachers to come up to the expectations of the profession.
