NCC (2010-2011)

NCC in Jamia Girls Sr. Sec. School
National Cadet Corps(NCC) was introduced in the school for class 11th and 12th girls in august 2009 .15 girls of the school were enrolled under the Senior Wing Girls of the university.These girls attended regular parades conducted on saturdays. As part of NCC training they were taught different millitary subjects in their regular para -des. Some of the subjects were Map reading , Weapon Training and Drill . Drill is important for the fitness of the cadets . Drill inculcates discipline among the stu -dents.They also develop leadership qualities by commanding troops during drill. It helps them to correct their bearing. The cadets of the school also got opportunities to participate in different other activities like Trainig In Disaster Management , Selfhelp, Social Service and Adventure Activity. NCC cadets were provided training in resque operations , fire fighting and first aid . The cadets were provided 10 days training in the month of October 09 in collaboration with Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guard,Delhi. NCC cadets wre trained in the techniques of unarmed combat to protect thems elves , whenever required. Girls were taken to DhaujRock climbing area in Huryana where they were given exposure to natural rock climbing situation. Five girls of our school participated in combined Annual Training Camp held at Jamia from 19th Oct 09 to 30 th Oct 09. In this camp 3 girls were selected in the main Guard of Honour presented to the Vice Chancellor on 29 th Oct 09 on the occasion of Jamia Foundation Day .Cadet Saima of our school was awarded by the trophy of Best Cadet of the Camp . Four girls have appeared in the 'B' certificate examination held in the month of February '2010' Seven girls have volunteered to serve as volunteers during the commonwealth games to be held in the month of October '2010'.

NSS (2010-2011)

Three day orientation programme
From 10th to 12th August 60 students from class IX & XI participated in three day orientaion programme on 10,11,12 August 2010 organised by N.S.S. deptt.
On 10 -11 August various topic were discussed relating to blood donation , rotary club,objectives of N.S.S.,volunteering for N.S.S.,objectives of youth health centre.
On 12th August more than 60 students went to participate in the rally.

Debate competition
A debate competition was held at 2 p.m. in Ansari Auditorium . The topic was "Developement of communities cannot be effective without natural resources ".
Four girls participated in this competition . Misbah ( class IX) won 3rd prize and Fozia(class XI Sc) won special prize for anchoring the programme.
Every participant got the participation certificate.

District interact leadership assembly 2010
The event was organised by Rotary Club of Delhi South East . A meeting was held on 3rd sept.2010 at A.P.J.Shaikh Sarai School.Twenty students participated in one day
programme and got the participation certificate . Chief Guest for the event were Mrs. Kiran Bedi and Mr. Arvin Chaudhary who talked about leadership qualities and
career opportunities .

NCC (2010-2011)

 17 girls (11 in 1st year and 6 in 2nd year) were enrolled in SW and 33 students (24 in 1st year and 9 in 2nd year) were enrolled in JW. Out of these one girl of SW attended Punjab Trek, 06 girls of JW attended Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) at Delhi.  An adventure programme was organised at Dhauj in Haryana in which 05 girls participated. 11 girls attended the ATC camp at Jamia and participated in Guard of Honour on the occasion of Foundation day of Jamia Millia Islamia. Cadets in Jamia Camp also participated in the .22 firing practice.

NCC  training imparts adventure training like rock climbing ,trekking & mountaineering to cadets.

Besides the basic training in drill and ceremonials ,the use and handling of infantry weapons are also imparted as a content of NCC course .

91st Foundation Day celebrations at Jamia Millia Islamia ,29th Nov 2011

The Foundation Day Celebrations were held at Ansari Auditorium ,Chief Guest Mr Sachin Pilot Hon’ble Minister of state for Communication and Information Technology, Govt of India along with Mr Najeeb Jung ,Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia received the Guard of Honour by the NCC cadets
