Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia was established under the aegis of the University Grants Commission in September 2000. Since then the Centre has taken many significant steps towards achieving awareness and sensitization on gender issues in the Jamia campus and the surrounding communities. The Centre presently strives towards achieving excellence in the areas of research and teaching. At present, the Center’s focus is towards achieving excellence in the areas of teaching and research. Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women Studies continue to play a vital role in mainstreaming gender perspectives into the academic and other development processes in the community life of Jamia Millia Islamia and its surrounding communities.
